Larry Wayne Clover, age 77 of Sycamore, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home in Sycamore, Kansas.
Larry was born October 17, 1943 in Neodesha, Kansas to Clarence A. and Bessie V. (Weathers) Clover. He grew up in the area and went to Sycamore Grade School before graduating from the Neodesha High School in 1962. On April 12, 1964 Larry married Evelyn R. Jabben in Independence, Kansas. They were married for 56 years after meeting at the rolling skating rink in Independence.
Larry worked at Starcraft and then at Scott Rock in Sycamore, where he retired. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Sycamore Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief. Antique tractors were his passion. He won many trophies and awards from the tractor pulls he attended around Southeast Kansas including the Kansas State Fair. In his early years Larry enjoyed racing motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn of the home; daughters Teresa and husband David, Kristin and husband Alvin; grandchildren Nicholas Aeschliman, Kaleb Morrow, Alex Morrow, Kadance Morrow and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence A. Clover, his mother Bessie V. Clover and his brother Gary Clover.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Potts Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021 with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel. The family has suggested memorials to the Caney Valley Antique Power Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
