Evelyn Ruth (Jabben) Clover

Evelyn Ruth (Jabben) Clover, 80, of Sycamore, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Glenn Carr Memory Care, Derby, Kansas. Evelyn was born January 19, 1943 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Carl and Theda (Hendrichs) Jabben, the eleventh child of thirteen children.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence with Pastor Kevin Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Potts Chapel in Independence with the family receiving visitors from 5:00 Pm – 7:00 Pm.

Evelyn grew up on the family farm near Jefferson, Kansas and graduated from Wayside High School in 1960. Evelyn earned an Associates of Arts degree from Independence Community College in 1962. She met Larry Clover at the skating rink in Independence on a Friday night in January of 1963. They later married on April 12, 1964. Larry preceded her in death in 2021.

She worked many years in the office at Union Gas and later for Gilmore, Dennis and Buckle Insurance. She retired from Cobalt Boats where she repaired boats.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening and being outside in the warm weather, reading, and being around family. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Ladies of Zion and the Independence Gardening Club. The couple enjoyed going to Colorado to go “jeeping” and purchased their own Jeep in 2005 to go out on the trails.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Aeschliman and husband David, of Fall River, and Kristin Morrow and husband Alvin of Fredonia, grandchildren Nicholas Aeschliman and wife Ali of Newton, Kansas, Kaleb Morrow, Alex Morrow, Kadance Morrow of Fredonia, four great grandchildren and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and six sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church and may be left at the Chapel
