Zilpha Houser

Zilpha Z. Houser, age 92, of Caney, Kansas died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Graham officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Janaury 16, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Zilpha was born December 6, 1916 in Caney, Kansas. She grew up in Caney, Kansas and attended schools there. On January 26, 1946 Zilpha married Conard Houser in Caney, Kansas where they made their home. Conard preceded her in death on May 19, 1971. She was a homemaker, taught piano lessons and was a member of the Fire Baptized Holiness Church. Survivors include one daughter Joanne Adams of Midwest City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister.
