Independence

Winnie Mae Price, 89, of Independence, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Hillcrest South, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Winnie was born August 16, 1931 in Independence, Kansas, to the daughter of Helen Elizabeth and Jack Clay Mansfield.

Her greatest joy was family gatherings and spending time with neighbors and friends.  She will be remembered for her devoted dedication to her family.   She was a Tupperware manager for over 26 years.  She was always active with her kids’ activities, PTA and church youth groups.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence.

On November 4, 1950, she married Joe W. Price at Bentonville, Arkansas.  They made their home in rural Independence.

She is survived by three daughters; Ardene Thompson and husband , John of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Kimberly Price of Independence,  Denise Lickteig of Gardner, Kansas;  Eight grandchildren, Barry Price and wife, Angi; Sam Price; Angie Carr; Amber Gregory and husband, Travis; Brent Thompson and wife, Kelly; Alan Thompson; Blake Lickteig and wife Angeles; Brooke Griffin and husband, Matt.  Thirteen great grandchildren, Kaity, Lexi, Graci, Sophi, Tia, Tucker, Brylie, Kerrigan, Gavin, Macy, Isabella, Collins and Beckett; and one great great grandchild, Harper.  She was looking forward to meeting her “soon to arrive” great grandson and great great granddaughter. She had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wesley Price; parents, Helen Elizabeth and Jack Clay Mansfield; siblings, Jackie Lee Mansfield and Gretta “Tootie” Nelson;  son,  James  Clay Price; grandchild, Dustin Price;  great grandchild, Cade Thompson.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Potts Chapel.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.    Visitation is Thursday from 1:00-5:00pm and family will be there from 5:00-7:00p.m.   Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and can be received at the funeral home.

MASK WILL BE REQUIRED INSIDE THE FUNERAL HOME FOR VISITATION AND SERVICE.
