William "Bobby" Reynolds

William Robert Reynolds (Bobby) passed away at his home on Friday, March 27th, 2020 with his loving wife by his side. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, July 13th at 10:00 am at Potts Chapel in Independence. Memorials are suggested to the local Legion Riders Post 139, 1531 W. Main St., Independence, KS 67301.

Bobby was born on September 26, 1947 in Independence, Kansas. He was the son of Charles (Bob) and Blanche (Tackett) Reynolds. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Independence High School.

In 1965, he married Janie Reeves. They share three children: Laura, Michael (Shane) and Bobbie Jane (BJ). They later divorced. He then moved to Texas where he worked for Arco and owned his own oil well service.

In 1985, Bobby returned to Independence. In 1988, he married the love of his life, Sandra (Mahaffey) Scannel. He gained two step-daughters: Taunja and Tisha.

Bobby retired from Atmos Energy in 2005. Through the years he enjoyed being with his family and friends, playing baseball, pool and golf. Riding his motorcycle was a joy to him. As an avid camper he spent lots of time at the Elk City Lake and the Ozarks with his wife Sandy.

Bobby will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Sandy will desperately miss her dear husband but knows the Lord has called him to heaven where he is no longer suffering and will be whole again.

Those left to cherish his memory are is loving wife, three children: Laura and husband Rich Daugherty of Sperry, OK., Michael (Shane) and wife Darlene of Big Cabin, OK. and Bobbie Jane (BJ) and husband Dan Noud of Granite City, ILL., two step-daughters: Taunja and husband Aaron Hammerschmidt and Tisha Ysusi and fiancé Kenny Cole both of Independence, KS., 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one brother Charlie Baldwin.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Jimmie Lee Reynolds.
