The family has suggested memorials to the Ed Wright Childrens Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. William Ed Wright, 46, of Niotaze, died Sunday December 19, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday December 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Caney with the Reverend Dan DeWitt , officiating. Interment with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel, Caney. Visitation will be from Noon to 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Potts Chapel, Caney. William Ed Wright was born May 7, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Willian H. and LaVita S. Miller Wright. Ed graduated from the Sooner High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma he also graduated from Tri County Tech., Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Ed joined the United States Army where he served 6 years in the 101st. Air Born Division attaining the rank of E4. He received the Army Service Ribbon Air Assault BadgeOverseas Service Ribbon Sharpshooter and Hand Grenade He was also trained in Air Assault. Ed was a welder and was self employed until illness forced him to retire. On March 28, 1998 he was united in marriage to Mary Long in Havana, Kansas she survives at the home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Caney. Survivors are his father William H. Wright, Bartlesville,Oklahoma and mother LaVita Sue Atterberry , Bartlesville, Oklahoma , His wife Mary of the home, three sons William Calvin Wright, Cody Triston Wright,and David Emanuel Wright all of Niotaze, Kansas. one daughter Mary Christine Wright, Niotaze, Ks. and one sister Nancy Cummins of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. And 3 grandchildren
