William Warner

Bill Warner, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, August 13th at 11:00am at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3167 South 10th Street, Independence, Ks. Visitation will be Sunday, August 12th from 5:00-8:00pm at the First Church of the Nazarene. His service will be a combined service with his son and two grandsons. Memorials may be made to the KAAA and the OAAA scholarships funds.

William Edwin "Bill" Warner was born January 8th, 1952 in Neodesha Kansas to Wilbur and Ann warner. He grew up in Independence on the family farm. He graduated high school in 1970 After graduation, he attended ICC then he continued his education at K-State, where he was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and graduated with a dual degree in animal husbandry and Agronomy in 1974.
He met the love of his life, Brenda Synder in April of 1991 and they were joined in marriage on September 5th, 1992. Together they blended a beautiful family with five children: Lisa Johnson, Blake Warner, Bryan Warner, Jessica Boyle, and Nicolas Warner. Bill and Brenda maintained the Warner family farm adding Warner Ag Air in 1994.
Bill was a member of KAAA, OAAA, and the local chapter of the EAA. Bill's greatest gratification came not from devotion to community activities but to spending time with his family and pursuing his passion of flying. At age 16, Bill became the youngest licensed pilot in the state of Kansas. His passion for flying (Brenda joking if ever he were to have a mistress it would be his airplane!) led to the development of his career, logging over 9500 total flight hours.
Bill is survived by his wife Brenda Warner, his children: Lisa Johnson, Blake Warner, Jessica Boyle, and Bryan Warner, sister Valerie Newman and husband Charlie, daughter-in-law Kaylee Warner. His five grandchildren: Broden Clingen, Owen White, Claira Fliearman, Hadley Johnson, Lainey Warner and expecting Madelynn Warner in November. He also had a whole host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
