William Bill Abbott Searles, age 86, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at his home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas with the Pastor Robert Cunningham officiating. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale Bible Holiness Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. William Bill Abbott Searles was born October 19, 1923 in Parsons, Kansas to Clifford Briggs and Inez Mabel Snyder Searles. He grew up in Parsons, Kansas and graduated from the Parsons High School. Bill served in the United States Army. On March 26, 1944 Bill married Josephine Cunningham in Parsons, Kansas where they made their home. They have lived in Cherryvale, Kansas for the last 22 years. Bill worked as a line worker for Prestige Cabinets in Neodesha, Kansas. He was a member of the Cherryvale Bible Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife Josephine of the home Six sons William A. Searles Jr of Port Angles, Washington, Richard E. Searles of Parsons, Kansas, David J. Searles of Cherryvale, Kansas and Martin D. Searles of Meriden, Kansas, Tim A. Searles of Cherryvale, Kansas and Mark A. Searles of Coffeyville, Kansas one daughter Linda K. Spillman of Cherryvale, Kansas 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
