William Bill N. Padley, age 90, of Cherryvale died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas with the reverend Gerald Zuck officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family has suggested memorials to the New Hope Christian Church, of Cherryvale, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Bill was born October 25, 1922 in Cherryvale, Kansas the son of Ray V. and Mamie M. Nelson Padley. He grew up in Cherryvale and attended the Cherryvale School System. On January 1, 1946 Bill was united in marriage to Bessie M. Mellington and the couple made their home in Cherryvale. Bessie survives at the home. Bill worked for the Union Gas Company in Independence from 1948 until he retired in December 28, 1984. He was a member of the New Hope Christian Church in Cherryvale. Survivors include his wife Bessie Padley of Cherryvale, Ks. two daughters Sharon Sample of Coffeyville, Ks. and Karen Presley of Cherryvale, Kansas one brother, Ralph Padley of Coffeyville, Kansas two sisters Frances Thornton of Thayer, Kansas and Florance Rector of Wichita, Kansas four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
