William Steve Douglas,70, Cherryvale died Tuesday at his home. A Celebration Of Life Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale with the Reverend Don Burchett Officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Viewing hours will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday November 20, 2011 at the Potts Chapel, Cherryvale. William was born December 29, 1940 in Triniadad, Colorado the son of Steven Albert and Inez Vandervo Douglas he grew up in Lenapah, Oklahoma and South Coffeyville. He attended the Lenapah School System. On June 23, 1962 William was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Taylor in Miami, Oklahoma, the couple made their home in Liberty and Cherryvale, Kansas. Mary Ellen survives at the home. William attended the Tulsa Barber College and worked for Baker Barber Shop he then worked for the Triple Valley Farm and for the Charles Spradling Farms he also worked and the Coffeyville Flour Mill also was a Security Officer at the Sherwin Williams Company in Coffeyville, Kansas. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen Douglas, one daughter Debbie Sue, one son Johnny Lee Douglas, two brothers John and Charlie Douglas one daughter Janet Penrod, five grandchildren Brandy Cannon, Melinda Matlock, Matthew, Joshua and Jacob Douglas,two great grandchildren Amber and Haley. William was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Inez Douglas and one sister Betty Douglas.
