William (Bill) Lee Corle, Jr., 53, passed away March 1, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Celebration of Life services will be held Thursday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene Independence, Kansas, with Reverend Darren Melton officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4 from 3pm to 8pm at Potts Family Chapel. Bill was born and raised in Independence. Soon after graduating from Independence High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force and later transitioned to the Air National Guard at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita. Later in life he felt a calling to Christian ministry. After completing a Bachelor's degree at Tabor College, he entered the ministry as Discipleship Pastor at First Church of the Nazarene of Wichita. Bill enjoyed several years there before continuing on to serve at Cross Road Church, also in Wichita. After returning home, he was employed as manager of Kansas Works in Independence.
Bill is survived by his wife, Anne, and young daughter, Sarah Lena, both of the home; his parents Bill Corle, Sr. and Janet Corle, Independence; five sisters, Madison Corle, Independence; Dana Magner, Owasso, Oklahoma; Tracy Marshall, Tucson, Arizona; Denise (and husband Russ) Baldwin, Independence; Stacy Vowell, Coffeyville; one brother, Geoffrey (and wife Chris) Corle, Independence; two half-brothers Greg Vowell, Coffeyville, and Tony Vowell, Independence; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends and church families. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Loile and Lena Corle; aunt Ruby Flaherty; uncles Jerry Corle and Loile Corle, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Lena Corle Education Fund in care of Potts Family Chapel.
