William Bill Jerome Carinder, age 86, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Cherryvale Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Cherryvale, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church with the Reverend Susan Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale United Methodist Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. William Bill Jerome Carinder was born October 14, 1923 in Caney, Kansas to Josiah G. and Inez Markley Carinder. Bill grew up in Caney, Kansas and graduated from the Caney High School in 1941. Bill graduated from the Coffeyville Community College. In May 14, 1943 Bill entered the United States Army during World War II until his honorable discharge on July 23, 1943. He then attended and graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture in 1948. Bill then taught a Farmers training program in Chanute, Kansas. On June 27, 1954 Bill married Faith Henry at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church by Reverend J.C. Duissair. The couple made their home in Cherryvale, Kansas. They owned and operated Master Breeders Hatchery in Cherryvale, Kansas from 1954 to 1971. In 1971 Bill owned and operated Zip Trip Market until his retirement in 1984. He then started helping his son at Sunflower Farms. He was a member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church, Kappa Sig Fraternity, Kansas Poultry Association and was a 4H leaderfor poultry projects. Bill was in charge of the ushers at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church for several years. Survivors include his wife Faith of the home two sons William Bill H. and wife Kate Carinder of Coralville, Iowa and Mark and wife Sandy Carinder of Cherryvale, Kansas one daughter Janie and husband Kent Houston of Coffeyville, Kansas four grandchildren Brent Carinder, Aubrie Carinder, Jordan Carinder and Seth Carinder. He was preceded in death by two sisters Shirley Wilson and Virginia Humphries.
