William Bill Boles, 81, of Caney, Kansas died Monday, May 20, 2013 at the St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel of Caney. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Salvation Army or the American Heart Association and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Bill was born June 7, 1931 in Caney, Kansas the son of Edward J. and Esta A. Mitchell Boles. He grew up in Caney, Kansas and graduated from the Caney School System. On August 29, 1954 Bill was united in marriage to Leah Jean Copeland and the couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. Leah survives at the home. Bill served in the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and retiring after proudly serving 21 years. He was a member of the Tyro Methodist Church, the Masons, Lions Club, VFW and Eastern Star all of Caney. He also served seven years on the Caney City Council. Survivors include his wife Leah Jean Boles of the home two sons, Jim W. Boles and wife Robin of Caney, Kansas and Mike Boles of Yukon, Oklahoma two daughters, Valla Rolls and husband Dickie of Caney, Kansas and Gayle Schultz and husband Rickey of Ocean Springs, Mississippi two sisters, Doranne Wyman of Texas and Darla Tucker of Jenkins, Oklahoma eleven grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
