William Backes, Jr.

William A. Billy Backes Jr., 50, of Buffalo, Kansas died Wednesday April 2, 2014 at the Via Christi Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence, Kansas and no service is planned at this time.
Billy was born February 9, 1964 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma the son of William A. and Nelda Brown Backes Sr.
He grew up in Chanute, Kansas attending and graduating from the Chanute School System.
On June 29, 1990 Billy was united in marriage to Michele Berthot and the couple made their home in Chanute, Kansas they were married for eight years and later divorced.
Billy was an electrician and Plummer for the Advance Home Systems in Chanute, Kansas.
He was a member of the Chanute American Legion and Elks Club. He also belonged to the Christian Motor Cycle Group and the Patriot Guard. He also belonged to the Jaycees in Chanute.
Survivors include his father William A. Jack Backes Sr. of Independence, Ks., one brother James C. Backes of Florida., one son David Backes of Pittsburg, Ks., one daughter Layce Backes of Erie, Ks.
