Willene Williams

Willene Williams, 81, of Augusta, Kansas and formerly of Cherryvale passed away at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at her daughters residence in Augusta. Celebration of Life Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale with Pastor Marty Warren, officiating. Friends may register from 12noon until 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Doris Willine Williams was born June 11, 1929 at Pettigrew, Arkansas the daughter of Robert Reinolds and Bertha Ann Maddox Reinolds. She grew up and graduated from Manchester, Oklahoma High School in 1947. On January 18, 1949 at Manchester, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Denver Hooper and they later divorced. She was united in marriage to Maxwell Floyd Williams on May 5, 1984 in Deer Creek, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death August 4, 2005. After her husband passed away she lived with her son and daughter in law Kim Cindy Hooper in Cherryvale for two years and later moved to be with her daughter and son in law Rhonda and Bill Sherwood in Augusta, Kansas. She worked for FCA Fiberglass in Coffeyville, KS, Gragg Cabinets and Cherryvale Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Deer Creek Christian Church. Survivors include four sons, Larry Hooper and his wife Debbie of Cherryvale, KS, Mike Hooper and his wife Michelle of Smithville, MO, Marty Hooper and his wife Tracy of Haysville, KS, Richard Kim Hooper and his wife Cindy of Cherryvale, KS four daughters, Anita McCoy and her husband Herk of Stillwell, KS, Rhonda Sherwood and her husband Bill of Augusta, KS, Mary Perry and her husband Joe of Cabot, Ark, Vicky Barnhart and her husband Michael of Billings, OK one step son, Maxie Williams and his wife Ginger of Deer Creek, OK, 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Carl Eugene Hooper, one grandson Randy Perry, four brothers and 3 sisters.
