Wanda Lenora Hass, age 89, of Elk City, Kansas died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013 with the Pastor Gary Cole of the Lone Cherry Southern Baptist Church officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Wanda was born December 23, 1923 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Guy and Lela Ball Dawson. She grew up in the McAlester, Oklahoma area and graduated from the Haywood, Oklahoma High School. On November 25, 1942 Wanda married Nelcson Hass in Ashland, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Wichita, Kansas. Wanda worked for the St. Joseph Hospital as an LPN for 45 years retiring in 1995. Nelcson preceded her in death on October 1, 1988. She was a member of the Lone Cherry Southern Baptist Church. Survivors include three children Tomie and husband Larry Mitchell of Elk, City, Kansas, Anna and husband Alfonso Maldando of Wichita, Kansas and Neletta and husband Bob Fredeleke of Valley Center, Kansas 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Nelcson, one daughter Wanetta Hass, one brother Thomas B. Dawson and one sister Pauline Keese.
