Vivian Sharp

Vivian Sharp, 91, of Caney, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Friends may call from 8:00am to 7:00pm, Monday November 10, 2014, at the Potts Chapel Funeral Home in Caney to sign the memorial register. The family will greet friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00pm at the Potts Chapel Funeral Home in Caney, with Jim Rush officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney under the direction of the Potts Chapel Funeral Home.

Vivian Dorthine Robinson was born April 15, 1923, in Shidler, Oklahoma, the 4th of 13 children to Benjamin E. and Tressie Velma Hart Robinson. She attended school in Shidler and Dewey Oklahoma. She married Ramon Cleo Sharp on November 18, 1941 in Dewey and they made their home in Dewey and Copan, OK, while raising their four children.

Vivian was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, reading and sewing. The family relates that in her younger years she enjoyed dancing western swing to Bob Wills and his band. Most of all she loved her family and especially her great great grandbabies.

Blessed by her memory are her surviving loved ones: Daughters Janice and husband Joe Branstetter of Copan, Sue Adams of Caney, Vivian Lukevic of Bartlesville, OK, and son Raymond and wife Kathy Sharp of Lenepah, OK 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and one great great step grandchild and four sisters Evelyn Gorham of Bartlesville, Mary Ellen Nichols of Nowata, Margie McKee of Nowata, and Shirley Kirby of Copan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters, as well as two great granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Vivian Sharp Memorial Fund. Donations can be left at the Potts Chapel Funeral Home in Caney.
