Vivian Kolb

Vivian Louise Kolb, age 87, of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Regal Estates in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Mount Hope Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Blocher officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Independence Museum and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Vivian was born September 19, 1922 in Independence, Kansas to Charles Dallas and Myrtle Frances Hunt Emery. She grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from Independence High School in 1940. Vivian then attended and graduated from Independence Community College in 1942 with associates degree in Business. On February 22, 1946 Vivian married Albert Kolb in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Albert preceded her in death on October 28, 1979. Vivian worked as a legal secretary for Bill Watson for over 20 years and several other attorneys in Independence, Kansas before retiring in 1984. She was a well known Artist in Independence, Kansas. Survivors include one son Truman and wife Teressa Kolb of Independence, Kansas 2 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
