Vivian Virgina Gillman, 79, of Cofffeyville, Kansas died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her home. Graveside Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Calvary Cemetery, Independence, Kansas with Father Andrew Heiman officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence. Reciting of the Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Potts Chapel, Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Virgina was born September 9, 1933 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Earl and Mildred Hall Howard. She grew up in Independence and attended the Independence School Systems. On October 1, 1955 Virgina Hall was united in marriage to Darrell D. Gillman in Independence. The couple made their home in the Independence area and later moved to the Coffeyville, Kansas area. Darrell survives at the home. Virgina worked in the customer service area for the Hosney Meat Packing Plant, in Coffeyville. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Gillman of Coffeyville, Kansas one son Jeff Gillman of Coffeyville, Kansas three daughters, Teresa Matney and Debbie James of Coffeyville, Kansas and Kelly Sloup of Hutchinson, Kansas four sisters, Louise Russell and Helen Mavers of Independence, Kansas, Dorothy Dunbar of Wichita, Kansas and Ann Boots Bolling Green, Kentucky seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
