Virginia Bredehoft

Virginia Anne Bredehoft, 100 of Independence passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Eagle Estates in Independence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 5th at 10:30 am, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Kevin Peterson officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at the Church. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery at Mt. Hope.

Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel on Thursday, May 4th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Virginia Anne Bredehoft was born June 4, 1922, in Independence, Kansas to Henry H. and Lena (Meyer) Baden. She graduated from Zion Lutheran School and Independence High School. She also attended the Bivens Business Classed in Independence.

Virginia’s work history included Sinclair Pipeline Company (Treasury Department) in Independence, and as a legal secretary in Woodbury, New Jersey, where they lived for several years. She was also elected Secretary of the Year in Glouster County, New Jersey.

She was married to Roland V. Bredehoft on June 11, 1950, in Independence. She and her husband loved to travel and were able to visit every state in the U.S. They also travelled to Germany to visit relatives, and to various other countries around various parts of the world.

Virginia has been a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church in Independence, in Marysville, Ohio, and in Blackwood, New Jersey, and was a member of the Chancel Choir. She was also a member of the Women of Zion organization in Independence.

Mrs. Bredehoft was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, Alfred (Bud) Baden.

Survivors include one brother, Harold H. Baden and wife Bette, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Zion Lutheran Church. To leave family a special message of condolence, please visit, www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
