Viola Leona Trowbridge Lynn, Mother of the Milliken Family, age 87, of rural Niotaze, Kansas died Friday, February 05, 2010 at her home in rural Niotaze, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas with the Reverend Bill Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to the Viola Lynn Cascade Community Fund, Community National Bank, P.O. Box 67 Caney, Kansas or contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Viola was born October 16, 1922 in Chautauqua County, Kansas to David Sylvester and Viola Myrtle Clark Trowbridge. She grew up in Chautauqua County and attended the Cascade Community School. She worked as a seamstress, and at nursing homes and for Phillips. She was a member of the Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville when the Feltners were pastors there. Survivors include three sons Ronald Milliken of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Melvin Ray Milliken of Rural Niotaze, Kansas and Philip Milliken of Rural Niotaze, Kansas one daughter Debra Ryan of Rural Avant, Oklahoma 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with 2 in the oven. She was preceded in death by one daughter Katherine Drake, one son Kenneth Milliken two sisters and three brothers.
