Viola B. Gillman, 80, of Coffeyville passed away Saturday at the St. Francis Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Graveside Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. , Friday September 28, 2012 at the Calvary Cemetery with Father Andrew Heiman officiating . Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery Independence, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p. m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the St Andrew Catholic School and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Viola was born March 4, 1932 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Maude Lawson . She grew up in Independence and attended the Independences Schools. In December, 1953 at the St Andrew Catholic Church Viola Mundy was united in marriage to Donald D. Gillman and the couple made their home in the Independence and Coffeyville area. Donald survives at the home. Survivors include one son Roger Gillman and one daughter Linda Ketchum both of Coffeyville, Ks., one brother Gary Mundy, Independence, Ks., and three sisters Jackie Vineyard, Edna, Ks., Ilene Vance, Independence, Ks., Karen Wolfe, Independence, Ks., four grand children and 6 great grandchildren.
