Trudy High, 69, of Independence passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the St. Frances via Christi Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence and A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p. m., Tuesday October 6, 2015 at the Friends Church, 507 N. 11th Independence with Pastor John Penrose Officiating.
Burial will follow at a later date.
Trudy was born August 27, 1946 in Weir, Kansas the daughter of Arthur William and Virginia (Peek) Woods. She grew up in the Altamont area and attended and graduated from the Altamont School System.
Trudy worked as a waitress for Reds Café, Kinseys Restaurant, and her last job was at Half Pints Restaurant until her health forced her to retire. Trudy enjoyed being a waitress and all the friends she made.
While living the past two years at Gran Villa Assisted Living Trudy made several friends and many became like family to her.
Survivors include her step mother Donna Woods of Cherryvale, KS. One daughter Sheila Housel of Independence, KS. one son Michael Whitten and wife Christine of Layton, Utah, one sister Betty Singhurst of Independence, KS. Four grandchildren Ryan Logan, Chance Housel, Collin Housel and Caleb Whitten as well as several nieces and nephews.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Karla Logan Bohr and a brother Arthur W. Woods Jr.
