Timothy R. Tim Daratt, age 52, of Elk City, Kansas passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at the St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Nazarene Church in Elk City, Kansas with Harry Hynes Hospice Chaplain Mike Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Potts Chapel in Independence with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorials to the KState Cancer Research Fund and these remembrances may be left in care of Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Tim was born September 14, 1958 in Fredonia, Kansas to Doyle R. and Margaret Keath Daratt. He grew up and attended school in the Wichita area. Tim worked as a heavy equipment operator much of his life. He married Denise Foster in 1982 and they later divorced. In May, 2003 Tim became lifelong companions with Sandra DeVore of Elk City, Kansas. He is survived by his companion Sandra DeVore of the home in Elk City, Kansas his mother, Margaret Coon of Mount Hope, Kansas a son, Preston Daratt and wife Melissa of Hutchinson, Kansas two daughters, Amanda Justice and husband Tim of Cherryvale, Kansas and Brandi DeVore of Neodesha, Kansas six grandsons and one granddaughter two brothers, Steve Daratt of California and Mike Daratt of Mount Hope, Kansas. There are many friends who Tim considered his family to which all survives to keep his memory alive. He touched the lives of many. He was preceded in death by his father.
