Thomas Wells

Thomas Tom Otho Wells, age 36 of Independence, Kansas died Sunday, July 26, 2009 in a boating accident near Independence, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas with the Reverend Dick Drumeller officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the AWOL Animals with our Love in Independence, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Tom was born May 19, 1973 in Neodesha, Kansas to Wendell and Alice Fink Wells. He lived most of his life in Cherryvale, Kansas and rural Independence, Kansas. He attended schools in Cherryvale and graduated from high school in Independence, Kansas. Tom also attended ICC and Pittsburg State University. He served in the United States Navy and was currently employed at Charloma Inc. in Cherryvale, Kansas. Survivors include his parents Wendell and Alice Wells of Cherryvale, Kansas; one brother Charles Wells of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister Shannon Ward of Parsons, Kansas.
