Thelma Dulohery

Thelma Louise Dulohery, 88 of Independence passed away at Montgomery Place Nursing Facility on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Thelma was welcomed into this world on January 24, 1934 in Liberty, Kansas to Albert and Ada (Troutman) Hinrichs. After growing up in Liberty, and attending local schools, Thelma married Edward Dulohery in Miami, Oklahoma on April 19, 1952. The two then moved to Independence and began to grow their family. Through the years, the two welcomed 4 children, Carol, Stacy, Laura, and Tony.

Thelma worked at ACC/Standard Motors for 20 plus years, retiring in 1996. After retirement, Thelma and Edward purchased a 5th wheel and began to travel. The two thoroughly enjoyed their trips to Roaring River, spending countless hours enjoying the outdoors. Thelma loved to work on jig saw puzzles, word searches, and Sudoku. She also enjoyed sewing and listening to country music.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Edward, and daughter, Laura Fitzgerald, and special friend, Howard Henderson.

Those left to cherish Thelma’s memory include her daughters, Carol Henry of Independence, Stacy Connelly of Independence, son, Tony Dulohery of Independence, sister, Frances Bracken of Wichita, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel and a Celebration of Thelma’s life will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery on Wednesday, November 23rd at 11:00 am.
