Terry Robert Sikes age 70, of Independence, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his home in Independence, Kansas.

Private Graveside Services will be held. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church at a later date. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.  Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church youth program.

Terry Robert Sikes was born October 29, 1949 in Aurora, Missouri to Joseph Warren and Jewel Helen (Long) Sikes. Terry grew up in Aurora where he graduated from Aurora High School. Terry then attended College at Southwest Missouri State University.

On December 28, 1972 Terry married Kathy Sue Stanton in Springfield, Missouri. The couple made their home in Jefferson City, Missouri. They then moved to Clinton, Connecticut, followed by Joliet, Illinois and Minooka, Illinois before settling in Independence. Terry worked as an accountant for Cobalt Boats for 14 years. Terry was a member of First Baptist Church of Independnce.

Survivors include his wife Kathy of the home; two sons Adam Terrell Sikes and wife Mandy of Lawrence, Kansas; Graham Bennett Sikes and wife Katie of Lansing, MI; three grandchildren Brandon T. Sikes, Kyle M. Sikes and Lucy Francesca Sikes. Brothers Gary and wife Leesa Sikes, Craig and wife Debbie Sikes and Sister Marylin Phillips.
