Terry Jean Dewey, 61, of Neodesha passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha.
Terry was welcomed into the world the youngest of 9 children to Carlyle and Cordy (Thompson) Ward on February 20, 1960 in Parsons, Kansas. Terry was a proud graduated of St. Paul High School in 1978. On June 30, 1990, Terry married the love of her life, Bill Dewey in Neodesha. The two were married 28 years until his passing on December 27, 2018. Through the years, Terry worked a variety of jobs. She worked as one of the lead inspectors at Prestige Cabinets in Neodesha and followed them to Coffeyville until the company moved to Columbus. She then opened her own daycare, taking care of numerous children. She most recently worked at Neodesha Care and Rehab in the housekeeping department. Terry loved to work on various craft projects, sew, quilt, and plant the beautiful iris and rose bulbs her girls got her every year in her flower garden. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family, her children, grandchildren and 3 dogs.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dewey, son, Randall McKinnis, parents, Carlyle and Cordy Ward, brothers, John and Wayne Ward, and sisters, Mary Jane Maewoods, Sue Chase and Janet McKinzie-Reese.
Terry’s memory will live on with her daughters, Corina and Crystal Julian, sister in-law, Sallie Dewey, sisters, Lucy Frost, Cordy Ann Hill, and Sara Caswell, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Friday, January 28th at 1:00pm with burial immediately following at Mount Hope Cemetery.
