Independence

Taylor Lee Edwards, 20, of Independence, KS passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel in Independence, KS.

Taylor was born on December 29, 1998 in Montebello, California. He is the son of the late Melvin Donald Edwards and Teri Ferrieri, and  was raised in  Hacienda Heights by his Aunt Pam (Pama) and Uncle Greg (Grega) Bonomo.

He graduated from Glen A. Wilson High School in 2017.  He enjoyed drama and was very involved in sports. Taylor received multiple awards in Wrestling and Track and Field.

He moved to Independence in August of 2018 where attended truck driving school. In early 2019, he was hired as a driver for the Sanitation Department with the City of Independence. He looked forward to joining his brother, Justin, on the road, once he turned 21 in December.

He loved fishing hiking, chopping wood and being outdoors. And he loved animals. He also loved animals. Tay was very attached to Caesar, a black Labrador, who belonged to his sister-in-law, Elizabeth, where he was living at the time of his passing. He also loved his cat, Mr. Kitty, in Hacienda Heights. He loved loving on and being with animals.

He also attended church at Victory Outreach in Hacienda Heights, California and Old Fashioned Baptist in Independence. He enjoyed running audio equipment for Victory Outreach in California and while he worked with them, as a missionary, in Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Edwards and grandmother, Ginger Keck.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Justin and his wife Elizabeth. Sisters: Tiffany Edwards of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Madison Edwards of Las Vegas, Nevada. Aunts: Pam Bonomo and husband Greg; Donna Randazzo; Uncle Billy and wife Mary Jackson. Nieces: Alexis and Andrea Edwards; Cousins: Brian McBride, his wife Dessa; Kimberly Ruppert, her husband Kent, and their children Gabriel and Grace;  Brynn, Robert, Jacob, Danielle, Hope and Faith Jackson and many beloved teachers and mentors he met along his path.

RIP Tay. You will always have our hearts
