Susan Ann Romig, 86 of Independence passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022.
Susan was born on March 9, 1936, in Neodesha, Kansas to Thomas Edward and Flossie Bell (Nichols) Weaver. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1954 and then married Perry Junior Moulton on June 19, 1954. The two were married 27 years until his passing in 1981. Susan then married Delbert Dean Romig in 1988 and Susan then moved to Independence. Susan and Delbert were married 16 years until he passed away in 2004. Susan worked at Emerson Electric and then retired from ACC.
Through the years Susan loved to read, watch her hummingbirds, and spend time outdoors. One of her favorite activities was mowing her yard on her new John Deere mower. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Flossie Weaver, her husbands, Perry Moulton and Delbert Romig, son, Perry “Bud” Ray Moulton, brothers, Ben, Bill, Jack and Tommy Weaver, sisters, Linda Weaver, Dorothy Lance, Florance Bressie and Dixie Weaver, grandson, Dennis Catron Jr., great grandchildren, Clayton Smith and Charles Catron, great-great grandson, Kyler Ray Woods Newby, and sons-in-law, Dennis Catron and Mitchell “Mickey” Gardner.
Her memory will carry on with her daughters, Constant Catron, Sherry Gardner, and Carol Moulton, all of Independence, sister, Betty Lance of Independence, MO, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Tuesday, September 6th with the family greeting the friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services for Susan will be Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00 am at Potts Chapel with burial immediately following at Mount Hope Cemetery.
