Stanley Oyler

Stanley Webb Oyler, 69, of Elk City passed from this life Friday, August 28, 2015 at Montgomery Place in Independence. He was born August 11, 1946 in Stillwater, OK to John Harvey and Mary Jeanne (Webb) Oyler. Living in Oklahoma until the mid-50's, he resided and attended school in the Independence area.

Stan was a self-employed roofer, carpenter and helper to many farmers and ranchers in the area. He was known for his hard work ethic and honesty by those that knew him. A long time member of the Elk City Power of the Past Tractor Club, Stan also assisted the VFW with Avenue of Flags for the Oak Hill Cemetery. From a very young age, fishing and hunting were favorite past times.

Preceding him in death are his Mother & Father, wife Bessie and numerous Aunts & Uncles. Left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Johnnie of Kansas and Richard (Sara) of Belton, TX; Aunt Evelyn Oyler, Sand Springs, OK; Niece Memori Lucky and Nephew Jamie Oyler, both of Salado, TX; Numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; along with his faithful companion, Corky the Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie).

Friends may sign the register on Monday August 31 from 9am to 12pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday August 31 at 2pm at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Doug Comstock officiating. To leave the family a message of Condolence please visit www.pottschapel.com
