Shirley Loraine Hosier, age 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor. She was born July 15, 1937, in Independence, KS to Harold (Bud) and Viola (Hinman) Romine. Shirley attended school in Independence. She worked several jobs throughout her life. She worked in the office of JCPenney for many years and worked as a bank teller for many years. She married Clarence Hosier on September 28, 1956. They lived in Neodesha, Ks for a short time and then settled in Independence, Ks. They were married 67 years before his passing. Shirley enjoyed playing card games with her friends and family. She loved having her entire family at the house for the holidays. Her favorite thing was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hosier, one sister, Dorothy Ogden and two brothers, Charles Romine and Harold Romine. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Janice) Hosier, his daughter (Jay) Vicki Reed, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Potts Chapel in Independence at 10:00 AM with graveside immediately following at Mount Hope Cemetery.
