Shirley Fields

Shirley Marie Fields, a long time resident of Independence, KS, passed away Wednesday, November 15th in Columbia, MO where she has been a resident since June, 2010.
One of three children, born to the late Olin E. and Marie H. (Wages) Estes of Cherryvale, KS. Shirley left high school to marry the love of her life, the late Lawrence L. Fields, also of Cherryvale, on July 22nd, 1951. She later completed her high school education in June of 1970. They were married for 54 years until he passed away on February 7, 2006. Shirley's brother, Obbie D. Estes, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Sonja Naifeh, and beloved daughters Sherida L. Wittum of Carl Junction, MO and Stephanie A. McDermott of Columbia, MO, treasured grandsons Ryan L. Wittum and Cole F. Wittum, caring son-in-laws Roger F. Wittum and Art R. McDermott and granddaughter-in-laws Tiffany Wittum and Jessica Wittum. Shirley was a loving and faithful wife and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed being a full-time homemaker, decorating for every holiday, flower gardening and spending time with her family. She touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile and sense of humor throughout her life.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, November 17th at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, KS with Potts Chapel.
