Shawn Bowman

Shawn Lee Bowman, age 43 of Caney, Kansas died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at his home in Caney, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Caney, Kansas with Brad Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery Niotaze, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m., to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Shawn was born June 25, 1966 in Espanola, New Mexico to Woodson and Pali Montoya Bowman. Shawn grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At 12 years of age he moved to Caney, Kansas. Shawn graduated from Caney High School in 1984. Had Vocational training through Coffeyville Community College, graduated in 1986, then graduated from Pittsburg State with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. In 1994 Shawn joined the Army Reserves supply and services in Independence, Kansas he served during Desert Storm. Shawn worked in Bacon Factory in Pittsburg, Kansas as Maintenance Engineer For 10 years. Shawn moved to Hawaii in 2004, worked in maintenance at a resort. In 2009 Shawn moved back to Caney, Kansas. Survivors include his father Woodson Bowman of Caney, Kansas., and his mother Pali MontoyaBowman of Hawaii. Two brothers Chris Montoya of Hawaii and Shane Bowman of Caney, Kansas Two sisters Shelly Campbell of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Sholene Willis of Joplin, Missouri. Grandmother Nanny of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Bowman, and grandparents Steve and Leatha Bowman.
