Sharon Reynolds

Sharon Lynn Reynolds, 77 of Independence passed away at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Sharon Lynn Reynolds was born at Mercy Hospital in Independence on December 13, 1943, to Thomas and Myrle (Maples) Smart. Sharon attended Cherryvale High School. While in school Sharon was an active member of the choir and pep club. She graduated in 1961 and then married William “Bill” Reynolds on June 24, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Sharon worked at Tri County for 30 plus years before retiring. She also retired from Heartland Coach as the bookkeeper. She was a member of the Lions Club. One of Sharon’s favorite times of the years was Christmas. She always set up multiple Christmas trees and placed her large collection of Santa Claus figures up all over the house. This time was extra special to Sharon because this meant she got to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She just adored the time she spent with them.  Sharon also loved to cook, browse around Facebook, collect antique dolls, watch the birds, and go on her annual trip to Branson with her classmates. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Myrle Smart, and brothers, JW, Wilbur, Marvin and Charles Smart.

Sharon’s memory will carry on with her beloved husband, Bill Reynolds of the home, sons, Darren Reynolds of Independence, Brent and wife Vicki Reynolds of Rock Mount, MO, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one brother, John and wife Susan Smart of Independence, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends at Potts Chapel on Thursday, July 22nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Friday, July 23rd at 10:00 AM with Pastor Randy Beeman officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family has requested that all memorial contributions be made in Sharon’s name to the Lions Club.
