Sharon Marie Bennett, age 48, of Independence, Kansas formerly of Cherryvale, Kansas died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Burial will be in the Fredonia Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Sharon Marie Bennett was born January 10, 1961 in Parsons, Kansas to Ralph and Erna Mae Lacy Bennett. She grew up in Cherryvale, Kansas and later moved to Independence, Kansas. Survivors include her mother Erna Mae Bennett of Cherryvale, Kansas; one sister Jackie Lindquist of Cherryvale, Kansas; two brothers Kenneth wife Joyce Bennett of Cherryvale, Kansas, Raymond and wife Marie Bennett of Quenemo, Kansas; one sister-in-law Mary Bennett of Ozark, Missouri; six nephews Robert Barnett, Terry Barnett, Randall Bennett, Greg Bennett, Scott Bennett all of Cherryvale, Kansas and Shellby Bennett of Quenemo, Kansas; two nieces Cindy Willis of Ozark, Missouri and Beck Medlock of Cherryvale, Kansas and her extended family from Cedar Brook Home in Independence, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Bennett and brother Charles Bennett.
