Sharen Raye Prosser, 70, of Independence, Kansas, passed away November 24, 2017, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. A celebration of Sharen's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 1st, at Potts Chapel in Independence. The visitation will be Thursday, November 30th, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Sharen Raye Prosser was born on August 10, 1947 to Harold and Betty (Johnson) Fulmer in Neodesha, Kansas. Sharen was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her sister, Candi, and twin sister, Karen. Sharen attended and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1964. After graduation, Sharen enrolled and graduated from Cosmetology School in Tulsa. On December 6, 1973, Sharen married Howard Prosser in Miami, Oklahoma. Howard and Sharen raised 3 children, Jon, Elizabeth, and Richard. Sharen was an active member of the First Church of The Nazarene and the local VFW chapter. Sharen enjoyed gardening and spending time with her cats and dogs, but most of all, Sharen always treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Sharen's memory will carry on with her mother, Betty (Johnson) Fulmer, of Independence, sisters, Karen Fulmer, of Independence, and Candi Stanley, of Tulsa, OK, daughter, Elizabeth and husband Rusty Whitson, of Independence, son, Richard and wife Deb Carrigan, of Lucedale, MS, and 10 grandchildren.
Sharen is preceded in death by her father, Harold Fulmer, and son Jon Prosser. The family has requested that memorials be made out to AWOL of Independence, and may be left at Potts Chapel in Independence. Online condolences may be left at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
