Sam Louis Bruhn, passed away on March 7, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on August 31, 1966, in Parsons, KS, Sam grew up with a spirit that embraced life’s joys and challenges. He graduated from Independence High School, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey that would be defined by his dedication as an electrician and his vibrant personality.
Throughout his life, Sam was known for his impeccable grooming and his ability to live life to the fullest, qualities that endeared him to many. He had a multitude of interests; he enjoyed the timeless melodies of country music and found joy in dancing, even after becoming wheelchair bound. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for bass and crappie fishing, which brought him peace. Sam also had a penchant for games of chance and delighted in visiting the casino and playing bingo, especially cherishing moments spent playing bingo in the nursing home.
A true enthusiast of football, Sam was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, instilling in those around him a sense of community and pride. His fondness for sweets, particularly chocolate and chocolate ding dongs, as well as his unwavering love for Dr. Pepper, painted a picture of a man who found pleasure in the simple things in life.
Sam is survived by his loving son, Keifer Bruhn of California; his aunt, Karole Turner of Kansas City, MO; and his niece, Jacqueline Bruhn of Miami, OK and her children Eric, Elijah, Ethan, Emma, Ella. He is preceded in death by his son, Ethan Bruhn; his father, Henry A. Bruhn II; his mother, Christina J. Scott; and his stepfather, Harry A. Scott.
In honor of his life, a graveside service will be held at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, KS, on March 14, 2025. The service will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who will be dearly missed.
