Ruth Johnson

Ruth Pauline Johnson, 92, passed away on September 24, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday September 28th at the First Church of The Nazarene in Independence, Kansas with Reverend Darren Melton officiating. Cremation will take place following the service, and inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas at a later date.
Ruth was born in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on June 6, 1921 to Charles and Lavada Crow. Ruth attended schools in Wyandotte and worked as a waitress.
Ruth is survived by her sisters, June Wallace of Wyandotte, Ok, and Ellen Howard of Little Rock Arkansas, her daughter Lavada Robinson of Salt Lake City, Utah, her sons Ernest Newton and wife Arlene of Independence, Kansas, Marvin Newton and his wife Val of Elk City, Kansas, and Dan Newton of Elk City, Kansas, 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many greatgreat grandchildren, and plenty of cousins, great nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene and may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence. Arrangements are being made by Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
