Russell Wood

Russell (Rusty) Clinton Wood, 63, of Elk City, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at his home.  Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel. Private services will be held at a later date.

Rusty worked on the road for RSI for most of his life and had recently retired with the love of his life, Debbie, and built his dream cabin on Sweeney Hill.

This world lost an amazing man. Rusty was one of the most kind, giant-hearted people anyone could have ever known. He had such a big love for his family and for God.

Family was everything to him, especially his wife, Debbie. They had such a great love and respect for each other. It was truly amazing and our family is so thankful that she was able to find a love like that and that we were there to see it.

Rusty’s memory will carry on with his wife, Debbie of the home, stepdaughter Brook Stewart,  her husband Brian and grandchildren Tate, Miles and Allison of Moline, his mother and stepdad, Joe and  Myrna Couch, Elk City, brothers  Lonny Wood of Altoona and Ron Wood and his wife Bonnie of Independence, sister Londa Grover and her husband Tim of Chetopa,  stepbrothers Jim Couch and his wife Karen of Elk City,  Don Couch and his wife Jessica and Shawn Couch and his wife Tricia of Fredonia, stepsisters Diane Baker and her husband TJ of Ark City and Tammy Ashenfelter of Eldorado, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Joyal Wood.
