Rosalie Hazel Bayless, age 92, of rural Neodesha, Kansas died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her home in Neodesha, Kansas.
Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Mount Hope Cemetery with the Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014 and from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com
The family has suggested memorials to FORPAZ Logan Fountain Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Rosalie Hazel Bayless was born July 19, 1922 in Cassoday, Kansas to Charles Austin and Rosa Pearl Dickert Duke. The family moved to Independence area in 1927. Rosalie attended the Peebler School in LaHunt, Kansas. On April 1, 1942 Rosalie married Harold Ferrell and the couple later divorced.
In 1963 Rosalie married Bob J. Bayless and he preceded her in death. She worked for Electra and the Box Factory before retiring in the early 1970s. Rosalie loved babysitting grandchildren and was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary.
Rosalie is survived by seven children, Peggy Thornberry of Cherryvale, Ks, Bonnie Ellis of Kensaw, NE, Gary Linda Ferrell of Independence, Ks, Jerry Shirley Ferrell of Neodesha, Ks, Betty Fulkerson of Cherryvale, Ks, Debbie Raspberry of Kensaw, NE, and Darla Greg Bynum of Independence, Ks 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children Charles Chuck Ferrell and Mary Maddox, parents, six sisters, and two brothers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Ferrell, Gary Ferrell Jr., Jamie Fulkerson, Jeff Ellis and David Thornberry.
