Ronald Stephen Mills, 66, of Elk City passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:00am at Potts Chapel in Independence, KS. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am before the service.
Ronald S. Mills was born January 10, 1953 in Independence, KS. He was the son of John and Helen Margaret (Magee) Mills. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1971. Ronald worked at Woods Lumber, a self-employed carpenter and at Hackney, where he retired after 38 years.
On Valentines Day, February 14, 1978, Ronald married the love of his life, Kathleen Boring. Together they welcomed five children. They made their home in Independence.
Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and being outdoors. He was an avid Chiefs fan and a Jimmie Johnson NASCAR fan. He loved cooking out and playing corn hole but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death were his parents and one granddaughter Katelyn St. Clair.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Kathleen, 5 children: Robert Frazier, Beverly Thorpe, Stephen Mills, Stephanie Mills and Melissa Mills, and 8 grandchildren: Bryson Frazier, Dalton and Kayley Thorpe, Marcus and Laura Johnson, Skyler, Ayden and Ryan St. Clair, brothers: Johnny Mills and Bobby Mills, and sisters: Anita Jones and Mabel Livergood.
