Roger P. Leeseberg, 83 years young, of Independence passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Roger was born on July 18, 1939 to Herman E. and Flora A. (Bruns) Leeseberg in Brookfield, IL.
Roger Leeseberg attended St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas where he met his lovely bride, Sharon. The two married on August 22, 1959 in Chanute, KS. He successfully obtained his Bachelors degree from Concordia University (Chicago) followed by his MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Roger’s occupations included teaching, sales and finance. His other passions included serving his local community and church. Of all his endeavors his favorite title was “Papa”. He was dedicated to leaving a legacy of love and modeling the importance of faith and family.
Roger is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Julia Valentine of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Roger P. Leeseberg, Jr. and spouse Tammy Leeseberg (Pasternak) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Kevin Leeseberg and spouse Linda Leeseberg (Domeyer) of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Madison McNulty, Tim Valentine, Christian Leeseberg, Sheridan Schimmelpfennig, Noah Leeseberg and Micah Leeseberg; great-grandchildren, Timothy Valentine and Annabelle Valentine; sister Jean Meyer of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; and brother Kenneth Leeseberg of Montello, WI.
A service celebrating his life will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Kevin Peterson. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
