Robert Crain

Robert Donald Crain, age 64 of Cherryvale, Kansas died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, Kansas with the Reverend David Cavaness officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Robert was born September 29, 1944 to Chester H. and Alberta Mae Walker Crain. He grew up in the Nowata, Oklahoma area and attended schools in Wann, Oklahoma. Robert worked for several different farmers until 1979 when he owned and operated his own farm. He also drove a school bus for the Cherryvale School System. Owned and operated the Flying C Pawn Shop from 1994 to 2000. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Elk City, Kansas. Survivors include two sons Bobby Crain of Winfield, Kansas and Kevin Crain of Cherryvale, Kansas; one daughter Judy Nelson of Independence, Kansas; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
