Rita Cooper

Rita Cooper passed away October 13th 2016, at the age of 98, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Independence KS, at 10:00 am, Friday, October 21st 2016. Interment will following at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney KS. Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Thursday, October 20th 2016.
Rita was born August 6th 1918 in Andover, NY. She married William Calvin Cooper on November 20th 1937. She was proceeded in death by her husband and daughter, Dorothy Jean Schneiter.
Survivors are daughters; Anita Foster of Olathe KS, Sally Noyes and husband Erik of Olathe KS, Joan Hardy and Husband Tom of Independence KS, Honora Bracken of Arlington TX, son in law George Schneither of Hurricane WV, and eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Rita served as both a children's librarian and then head librarian at the Independence Public Library where she retired after 27 years. She was an avid reader and quilted with the St. Anne's Quilting circle of St. Andrews Catholic Church, as well as making quilts for all her children and grandchildren.
