Richard Rick E. Golden, age 59, of Independence, Kansas died Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center in Wichita, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas with the Reverend Robert Montgomery Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Richard Rick E. Golden was born October 25, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Emery and Alma Parrett Golden. Rick grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and attended schools in Kansas City, Missouri. Rick was a truck driver and transported Greyhounds all over the country. Rick also helped his brother Ron Golden with A1 Roofing. Survivors include one son Bryan of Pratt, Kansas two brothers Ron Golden of Wichita, Kansas and Robert Golden of Independence, Kansas 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
