Richard Cain

September 26, 1944 — December 2, 2018

Richard G Cain, 74, of Carl Junction, MO, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018.

Richard was born in Erie, Kansas on September 26th, 1944 and moved to Independence, Kansas in 1947. Richard was proceeded in death by parents, Hubert V. and Betty L. Cain, and brother Junior Cain. Richard is survived by daughter, Kandace Rather and husband Nathan, and son, Joe Gonzales and wife Carie. Brothers Bobby Cain, and Larry Cain and wife Emma, and sister, Linda Osterberger. Papa Fishy to Brady and Ruth Rather, Davion and Bethany Prothro and Morgan and Bailey Hepler and Cruz Gonzales. Great-Grandpa Fishy to Emerie Prothro, Aizlyn and Titus Rather.

Richard served in the US Navy from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War, aboard the USS Providence.

Our beloved Papa Fishy loved to hunt, fish, cook and work with his hands, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a kind, gentle, and loving man.

In Lieu of flowers please send gifts to the Washington-Osage Disaster Relief Team OR VFW Post 1186 Independence, Kansas. Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas on Friday, December 7th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a special share time with the family from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Independence, Kansas on Saturday, December 8th at 10:00am with interment following at Havana Cemetery.
