Richard Dean Srader, age 57, of Independence, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home in Independence, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Potts Chapel with the Rev. Dana McCoy officiating.
The family has suggested memorials to the Cancer Center of Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
Richard Srader was born March 31, 1959 in Neodesha, Kansas to Eldon and Betty (Sloniker) Srader. He grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and attended schools in Neodesha before moving to Independence, Kansas. Richard served 12 years in the Army National Guard. He drove a truck for J.B. Hunt and worked as a welder for Matco and other businesses. Richard loved to fish, hunt, camp and go to the casino every once and awhile.
Survivors include two daughters Desirae Vickers and Jessica Smith both of Kansas City, Kansas; mother Betty Srader of Independence, Kansas; two sisters Cindy Ramey of Independence and Tammy Robertson and husband Brian of Independence; one brother Tracy Srader of Independence and one grandchild Randle J. Smith of Kansas City, Kansas. Richard was preceded in death by his father Eldon Srader.
