Rheva Overfield, 89, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Celebration of Life service will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Potts Chapel 1:00pm till 6:00pm, with family greeting friends 4:00pm till 6:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the Sycamore United Methodist Church, Haverstick Avenue & 5800 Rd, Sycamore, KS 67363 and can also be left with Potts Chapel.
Rheva was born April 27, 1927, the daughter of Kenneth and Zeolia (Daniels) Cook. She attended school in Neodesha and graduated from the Neodesha High School. Rheva married Howard Overfield on March 2, 1947. They made their home in rural Sycamore. Together they operated their own farm. Howard preceded her in death in 2007.
Rheva enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening, bird watching and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Those left honoring her memory are her 3 daughters; Sharon Barnhill of Bartlesville, OK, Elaine and husband Bob McDaniel of Sycamore, KS and Geraldine and husband Louis Collier of Coffeyville, KS, 4 grandchildren; Chris Barnhill, Jeff McDaniel, Angela Burchett, Melissa Kusiak and 10 great-grandchildren.
Proceeding Rheva in death are her parents, husband, and 2 sisters; Dorothy Caskey and Nadine Gidney.
