Rebecca Ramirez

Rebecca Maria Ramirez, 69, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Rebecca Ramirez was born on December 26th, 1952, in Independence, KS to Aurelio & Juanita (Chavez) Meza. She attended Independence schools and graduated in 1971. After high school she took classes at Independence Community College while working at City Publishing Co. After that, she found her calling working most of her adult life with the mentally handicapped, elderly and disabled from the early 1980's to her retirement age. In 1974 she married Steve Ramirez, they later divorced in 1984. She loved watching her Kansas City Chiefs on game days, spending time with her family especially her son Anthony and daughter in-law, Misty. She also loved animals of all kinds and her kitties and pug.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Frank Meza.

She is survived by her son, Anthony (Misty) Ramirez, (Wittenberg, WI), her brother, Paul (Sylvia) Meza (Anaheim, CA), her partner, Steve Humphries of the home along with nieces, nephews and loving cousins. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Independence, KS. on Tuesday, April 19th at 1:00 PM.
